An internationally respected aficionado of Reggae, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Funk, Afrobeat, Kwaito and Global Beatz, Manello Marakabei crosses continents with a crossfader. He spins records as if they a backpacker's holiday snaps strewn across a table, and yet somehow it all fits succinctly - joyful, soulful, utterly captivating - from Baaba Maal to Blackalicious, Salif Keita to Sizzla, K'Naan to Micheal Franti & Spearhead, Kwani Experience's to Clotaire K, Manu Dibango to Femi Kuti, Eryka Badu to Amp Fiddler, Mariam Makeba to Bongo Maffin, Delroy Wilson to Teba Shumba.

Originally from Basotho, South Africa and now living in Brighton, England, Manello's much travelled record box has touched down at festival everywhere, including the Big Chill in the UK, Rustler's Valley (SA), Womad (SA) and Grahmstown Jazz Festival (SA). These days he is a resident DJ at Skylarkin' Soundsystem (Brixton) and Planet Mango (Oxford).
Manello’s latest residency is in his new, adopted home of Brighton.
