I'm originally from the mitten state but it got way too cold for me there. I moved to LA and went to USC for undergrad (Fight On Trojans!). I graduated in 2005, majored in business which I hated and minored in music industry which I loved. I’m now working at Universal Publishing as an A&R assistant. For those of you not in the know, A&R people sign new talent. I’m hoping to be an A&R exec one day, so watch out :) I'm not planning on staying in LA forever, but I'm definitely not moving back to Michigan either. I’m going to try to live in New York, Seattle, Chicago, London, and Italy... but doubt I can fit all those in AND have a family and career. I guess it will all just depend on where the music takes me! For now I spend most of my time doing things that are music related – going to as many shows as I can, planning my next DMB show (I’m OBSESSED!), researching new bands, and posting new stuff in my blog ( http://www.musicramen.com ). When I’m not being a music junkie, I like to hang out with my lovely friends, cook/bake things, dream about how I’d love to travel to a million bajillion places, watch Friends and SATC re-runs, read random books, enjoy a meal at the mecca (souplantation), and play with my cat (Grace a.k.a. Kitty).

Ten random facts about L Cook:
1. I took Japanese in high school and I love the movie Totoro. The catbus is awesome.
2. I’m afraid of aliens – nobody knows anything for sure about them and that freaks me out!
3. I was captain of my cheer team in HS and was Bring-It-On-level obsessed. Which has led to a ton of people thinking I look like Kirsten Dunst. No chance.
4. I’ve been to 29 DMB shows and get all the new songs the morning after they debut. If anyone can help me meet the band, I will be your best friend forever.
5. In Michigan, I lived on 8 Mile. Only, I lived REALLY far down from the ghetto-ness. My town was named after a train station and is pretty much as white bread America as you can get. Except for the time there was that drive-by in Chase Farms…
6. I was on Price is Right and won a bed and a fridge. Bob is very orange and leathery.
7. I love chicken fingers, but I don’t eat the ends of them. They scare me.
8. My cat has learned how to change my computer background to a picture of herself and how to remove her collar by sitting up on her back legs and grabbing it with both paws and then pulling really hard. She may be a genius.
9. I'm obsessed with page-a-day calendars. I have 3 at home and 2 at work (an improvement from last year when I had 6 total).
10. My career goal is to be invited to the Grammys. And then while there, I would ambush Clive Davis because he is my idol.
