Juanito emergence as L As premier DJ is truly remarkable. He was born in El Salvador and came to Los Angeles in 1982, when he was 7. His family came to escape his countrys civil war, and so that Juanito would avoid being drafted when he turned 11. Los Angeles was like another world to Juanito. He spoke no English and had never seen joined the gangs before. Music, however, remained a constant in his life. His parents played Cumbias, Merengue and Salsa, as well as such Central American stars as La Sonora Dinamita, Aniceto Molina, La Makina, Fito Olivares. But it was Juanito Brother who had the bigger musical influence by introducing him to N W A, Mc Hammer, Salt & Pepper, Sir Mix A Lot, Too $hort and Eazy-E. Even though Juanito couldn’t understand all of their lyrics at the time, he was blown away by the attitude and feel of the music. Juanito had similar feelings toward Techno and House Music.
