Not Your Hero are a poppunk/rock act from the south of UK, fusing many different influences and styles to get their own unique sound, which if you listen to some of their tracks, you can see why!
Not Your Hero began back at Christmas 2004 when Pete and Tim decided to look for a drummer, it didn't take long before a friend suggested Jonny. At first they thought 'Oh yeh, we've heard all this before...' but after 10 seconds of meeting Jonny and hearing him play they fell in love. Jonny was a perfect fit! So there it was, Not Your Hero was formed as Pete, Tim and Jonny...but this wasn't the real Not Your Hero as there was no name, and something wa't quite right. There was that something still missing-and then it clicked! Nick was introduced to Tim and Jonny through Pete and they invited him along to band practise and within seconds of them all playing together it was pretty clear the band was complete and here to stay. The name 'Not Your Hero' was decided upon and the band set off along the wonderful musical path.
Not Your Hero have recorded their debut single 'Ask Away' which will be released in early 2007 hoping for a top 20 finish. They have released a limited edition album and will be completing their full UK debut album in early 2007.
The band sadly lost not only their bass player/vocalist but their best friend on September 3rd 2006. Tim Brown, who can only be described as nothing short of incredible,one of the most talented musicians around, A truly fantastic songwriter and a loving friend. Tims dream was to have the whole world know his music, achieve a number 1 hit, and enjoy the journey. Not Your Hero have now set out to make Tims dream come true. 'Tim, we will never forget you and we will make you so proud'. Despite the tragedy Not Your Hero are still going strong and aiming for huge goals. 2007 will undoubtably be a busy year, with a full UK headline tour, debut single release, album release and much more, 2007 will be 'the year of the Hero'!
