Rock For The Masses

About Me

We are no longer a movie theatre! We are Jacksonville/ North Florida's premier live music venue. Since 1995 we have been a music venue – but not your average nightclub. You won’t find drunken brawls or strippers and you won’t leave smelling like smoke. But you will find great live music, dancing, and occasional treats such as independent films, spoken word, martial arts, & comedy. Our music nights feature plenty of different styles too: metal, contemporary, indie, ska, acoustic, hip-hop, praise & worship, generally rock, punk, x hard-core x, & emo. But what about instrumental.... And dancing? We have swing nights, house nights, & pits, but not at the same time. Another thing you’ll find here are Christians. Not perfect people. Not stuffy sermons. But people who love the Lord and want to share that love. This is a wholesome, safe environment for Christians, those curious about Christianity, and those totally uninterested in Christianity. All are welcome here. We are open every Friday & Saturday night and sometimes more often. Doors generally open at 7:30 (earlier on week nights) and most of our shows are about the cost of a movie, yet last much longer. Please check the schedule for the next show that interests you. The Hill is a live music venue with the best sound & light system in the city. We’ve also got pool tables, vintage video games, a cafe, music store, and recording studio. The Rock: * specializing in hard to find Christian music * listening stations – hear it before you buy it * buy/sell/swap new & used CD’s * magazines, t-shirts, gifts, & manic panic products * a knowledgeable staff that can make recommendations and special order what you seek * open during the showsThe Cafe: * serving homemade milkshakes, pizzas, salads, and other filling treats * full cappuccino bar * cyber cafe with high speed internet access * occasional live acoustic music * open during the showsThe Hill Studios: * professional recordings using a 24 track ADAT system * budget pricing for ministry oriented musicians * capturing a live sound & feel on tape * appointments available – just call!
