Bodybuilding, wrestling, useless trivia, coding programs, taking stuff apart to see how it works (Helpful hint, don't try this with kittens...), road trips (who cares where we're going?), people-watching, and gadgets. Oh, and I'm a sucker for the X-men and related schtuff.
I'd like to meet:
Stan McQuay, Stephen Hawking, The Architect, Jonathan Coulton
Music:
I'm pretty eclectic about my tastes, as I've noticed just about every other friggin' person on MySpace claims to be. I carry everything from classical to dance to Animaniacs songs on my media player.
I do, however, utterly loathe Jazz. Yeah, I said it. It had to be said. The comedian, Paul F. Thompkins does it best with:
"It's a bunch of guys, all playing different songs at the same time. It's just a racket. It's just noise. It's like a whole genre of music is defying you to like it...let's say you go to see some live jazz music. And if you do, I'm sorry, it's not my fault, but let's say you lose a bet or whatever...or you fall down some stairs into a Jazz club..."
Movies:
Favorite movie of all time is Aliens. Great lines, great writing, and consummately entertaining. Some notable runner's up would be X-Men/X2, Boondock Saints, Fight Club, Galaxy Quest, Clue and Drop Dead Gorgeous.
Television:
I have barebones cable for the sole purpose of lowering my cable internet bill. Most of the shows I watch are those that have already been released on DVD so I can do them in marathon sessions and satisfy my need for instant gratification in the case of cliffhanger episodes: Heroes, Smallville, Family Guy, Firefly, Dead Like Me, BSG, Futurama and Comedy Central Presents
Books:
It, The Stand, Dark Tower series -yes, I realize King's books are usually pulpy crap, but they're fun and I read to escape, not to better myself. That and the man cannot finish a book to save his life. Also enjoyed: Catch 22, Who Stole My Cheese, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Naked (Sedaris)
Heroes:
Bobby Drake, Henry McCoy
