Influences: Sometimes it's the angels and sometimes it's the demons. Then there are the great aspects of what is witnessed in music and life. There are a lot of musicians, artists, and other significant people responsible for what you hear. Good and bad, they all serve their purposes and they are loved for it.
As for musicians, here are a few from the list: Prince, Led Zeppelin, Chaka Khan, Jeff Buckley, Amel Larrieux, Jealousy Curve, Stevie Wonder, Imogen Heap, Colin Smith, N'dambi, Ofra Haza, Sting, Lenny Kravitz, Alanis Morrisette, Van Hunt, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Beady Belle, Danielia Cotton...and the many, many more that will influence or have influenced the sound.
