THE MOVEMENT

About Me

Change the Game of Life is an organization dedicated to the empowerment and upliftment of youth in urban communities, thru educational and recreational outlets. In many urban communities, municipal establishments designed to foster and nourish the proper growth of children into adults, are compounded with various disadvantages; the residue of which has left many urban youth with insufficient guidance or support. Our most recent project; Change The Game of Life Basketball Classic presents an oppurtunity to provide the urban community a large recreational forum to build stronger ties with one another, establish a stage to showcase the athletic talents of neighborhood stars, and to raise funds which will be directed towards our educational programs including the Change the Game of Life mentor program, and afterschool homework sessions. The CTG Basketball Classic will be held in the evolving Clinton Hill/Fort Greene neighborhood, in Emerson Park; one of NYC Park Departments most successful makeover projects. Our Classic will continue the city's effort to include recreational outlets*, on a community and public level. By participating in an attempt to stregthen the urban community, your organization will be acting as a catalyst for positive change. Sponsoring an affirmative transformation, that will carry on thru many lives and futures of many urban youth. In this communal environment Change the Game of Life will be offeringr egistraion for our mentor program, health services provided by local vendors (free HIV testing, Blood Pressure/Heart monitoring, and other health related svcs), as well as face painting, contests, and barbeque. With an expected attendance of over a hundred people, the CTG Basketball classic will run from July 1st to mid August. We hope that with the help of your enterprise, the CTG basketball tournament will act as an inspiring and motivating factor in the community, fostering the notion that we can all help each other.
