In today's music industry, rappers are a dime a dozen. However, artists who can move the crowd, make you think, and appeal to the streets all in one album are few and far between. These qualities are what make Steve Owens, a.k.a. M.Klean the cornerstone of Heavyweight Ent.M.Klean fell in love with music at a young age while growing up in Dallas, TX. In middle school, he began to imitate his favorite rappers, writing his own unique versions of their hit songs. In high school, M.Klean developed his own style of writing and producing which earned him many awards at local Dallas talent competitions. He then started the group B.O.C. (Ballas Outta Control) and released the album America's Most Hated in 2000 which created a buzz on the Dallas underground radar.After graduating from high school, M.Klean continued his education at Howard University in Washington D.C. It is here where he hooked up with producer Miguel Graves (Grave Yard Productions), and Jessie McDaniel (Jesse) to form the label Heavyweight Ent. They also formed the group 2 Throwed and released self-titled album in 2004 which received critical acclaim in local publication's including Howard University's Hilltop, the nation's ..1 college newspaper.After their first project, M.Klean decided to venture out and put together his first solo album which he titled Fresh . The collage of southern slang and bass driven production spread like wildfire through the college campuses and clubs of DC. Influenced by a variety of artists including Jay-Z, Pimp-C, and Kanye West, M.Klean displays a unique, crowd pleasing style. His cool, laid back persona makes him appealing to many different audiences while his witty rhymes and catchy hooks leave fans begging for more. As a producer, M.Klean is best known for keeping the club jumping with his southern style beats and killer sampling techniques.This young talent is defiantly on the rise and is taking his label, Heavyweight Entertainment, to the top with him.
