Sounds Like: Well i thought Id give you a list of all the songs we have played for the sounds like section:
Face of an Angel - Written by James, this rocking love song about all those girls he has seen having "fun" on the internet - well he claims he wrote it about Jennie but the rest of the band thinks they know better - is one of 3 songs recorded by the band and will rock your socks off - or not as the case may be I don't know
Words - The band's first ever song, written by John and since been recording, is all about John's major sexual frustration - due to his lack of a girlfriend he needs to vent out these feelings on everybody. However, the song is, according to a number of girls, very catchy so it must be good. And you've gotta love Andrew's bassline for the verse.
Turn Around - A more recent achievement by John, this is an epic song. Calum's drumming is simply top notch as John sings about dissilusionment (I think) It has soft bits and rocking bits and if you are ever lucky enough to see it live check out James and Lawrie's jumps and moves - good fun anyway
The L Group - It could be called a band Anthem - written by James when he was girlfriendless, its an ultra poppy song basically about being a Loser - It is also a song featuring no John on vocals as he hates it, meaning that duty falls on James - oh John can't you save us all and just do them yourself (the John points out that we are never ever EVER going to play this one live so the world is safe- apart from when john leaves the band to go to uni as everyone else in the world likes this song)
Natural High - Written by John's brother Mike, this song has kinda been ditched by the band - despite James's comic backing vocals. It created much controversy when the lyrics "Skinny blond girls" were uttered by John in front of Calum's girlfriend Fiona - I don't understand why, just because they are the sexiest members of society (apart from Indigo Fades of course) that is no reason to mock our lyrics. Hmmm i hope Fiona doesn't read this.
Comfortably Numb - Written by Pink Floyd, this was the first song we covered in our band practices - Unusually it had Andrew on lead vocals and James on bass, with John taking over the main guitar duties. However the song kinda got replaced by the next two as our main covers
Teenage Dirtbag - The pinnacle of the band's live performance (apart from James constantly fluffing up the end) is a song written by Wheatus about guess what, a loser. If you ever get to see it live, you will look forward to the "girly" bit near the end with James and Andrew, where they proceed to put on blond wigs and sing totally out of key. However, everyone admits this is the best part of our show so simply, who cares about the singing, we love you anyway
Lee - LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE written by Tenacious D - the introduction to Live AD, this song was dedicated to AC (poor old Lee). According to John in James's poll this is the greatest song ever, and who could blame him, what a rocking (and funny) tune. If you want to hear the origanal Tenacious D version go onto John's bebo and watch the Lee Running video - trust me is simply superb - or you could buy Tenacious D's album - but don't illegally download it cos thats naughty
Journey - A new song written by Andrew about well, life I suppose. The only non band member to hear it, Jennie, liked it a lot so thats a good sign. Definatly the quietist song by the band, it even features James on bass with Andrew taking on the guitar instead. Nice tune which adds a new dynamic to the band
True - Written by James, this is a continuation of Face of an Angel. This song is more one about his feelings for Jennie, and has Franz Ferdinand style guitars in the verse. A more fun and happy song this forms the perfect counterbalance to some of the bands more darker, serious tunes but avoids the general poppiness of the L Group
H-Song - John's latest song. A song about friendship and leaving school. Quite quiet, but somehow profound at the same time. It then roars into a heavier drumming section where deansy rocks, before getting quiet again for the end.
