Electronautas

The Electro scene in Spain is not new, but its scarce publicity keeps it deep underground in cities like Barcelona and Madrid, and its usually linked to other styles of music, such as Techno Pop and Ebm. Since its birth in the early 80s, Spanish Electro has adapted itself to the dance floors, being embraced by a much greater audience as a distinct style within the greater category of electronic music. Youre now face to face with a group of veterans whove spent years searching for the perfect beat, trying to bring recognition to the Spanish Electro scene without ever selling out. This is pure Electrofunk without avant-garde embellishment. You will succumb to the emissions of the Electronautas as they impiously attack you with their spatial Funk Techno sounds, leaving behind the tired dance clichés that so many so-called Electro groups continue to use.

MEMBERS

ROC 1: One of the pioneers of Spanish Rap, he wrote the lyrics to El inspector Martínez, a track from the compilation Rap de Aquí (Ariola 1990), which sold over 15,000 copies and has become a reference point in Spanish Electrorap. Roc 1 has always been heavily involved in Electro since the beginning, and he stays true to his roots.

SPLIT: Starting as the Dj from Underrap and RS232, he first made wax as a producer on the Elektrodomésticos compilation, although he already had years of underground experience behind him. He later appeared on the 2nd Star Whores compilation and on the record Electroempire which was recorded by winners of a worldwide production competition.

KOA: Also a former member of the group Underrap, he debuted on Rap de Aquí before spending years underground and then finally appearing under the pseudonym Kenoby on Elektrodomésticos in 1998. In 2000 he released his first solo album, Robot Force (Superego 2000), and collaborated on one track on Sace 2s album.

SACE 2 : A musician and producer originally from Demoscene in the late 80's, he debuted on the compilation Elektrodomésticos (Tu Pierdes 1998) before releasing his first solo album La Musika (Headspin, Superego 2000). He's also been involved in many other compilations both nationally and internationally (Star Whores Records, etc).
