Jon Bland is the name, but this Virginia native is anything but bland. He is as flashy and loud mouthed as they come, wearing thousand of dollars worth of jewelry, and staying freshly dipped in the newest fashions. But contrary to todays hip-hop stars and a wanna-bes, Jon is very unique in that he draws from his real life struggles and experiences, as opposed to the usual hustler/murderer/pimp rap every rapper seems to be talking about today. People relate to Jon, they truly feel like they connect with his lyrics: lyrics like send your little envelopes, I throw it away, theres no need for me to read cause I know what it say, about a negative reflection on the credit report, they way they going after me its like their headed for war. His music covers everything that is or has been his life, form addictions, relationships, and money issues, to joking with friends, sexual escapes, and just plain raw Emceeing.Jon Blands music is Jon Bland! While most of his peers were playing cowboys and Indians outside, he was inside playing his guitar with dreams of being a star. When Jon traded his guitar and pick for a pen and a notebook he instantly started shocking the world around him. Never one to follow the crowd of his surroundings, he was making his own beats and putting tapes out until getting discovered by a major management company (representing both Atlantic and Arista Records artists). After working on other artists projects for years, building relationships, and learning the game, Jon realized that it was now time to make himself the priority, so he left!Jon has always been the one to help people out, and the irony is, some one he helped out (years prior to his association with the management company) sought him out to be a part of Heaven On Earth Productions label. Since reconnecting with R.E.U.B. and H.O.E. Jon now has a home that makes him a priority. With this new stable home base, Jon has all the necessary tools to fully utilize his talents. Capitalizing on the success of his features on various R.E.U.B. songs (including the highly acclaimed close my eyes Sirius radio, WPGC 95.5), Jon Bland is now poised to release his solo debut Blue Blood Bland. The album is armed with powerhouse production by Jon himself, along with R.E.U.B. From blue collar to white collar, Blue Blood Bland is truly an artist, and an album that will leave its legacy on hip hop.
