About Me
Band Bios:
Paolo Escobar (lead vocal/rhythm guitar):
"Paolo Escobar started singing on stage at the age of 4, got his first guitar at the age of 7, and at the age of 21, still enjoys mesmerizing people with his funky percussive musical style. With a list of influences as thick as his (including Stevie Wonder, Marc Broussard, Thelonious Monk, Marvin Gaye and the late and great Donny Hathaway) his music is sure to bring a distinct flavor to any scene. Aside from his music, Paolo is also an illustrator, and stage actor. He has worked with the R.Ed.I. Arts Foundation, Hataw Pinoy Chicago, and PINTIG/CIRCA. He met the Prescription during a performance at the Refuge Arts Center in Skokie and they instantly clicked. Right now they are working on new and exciting songs. Watch out world!"
Patrick Parrish (lead guitar/backup vocal)
"Patrick Parrishgrew up in Motown, so it's no surprise to hear that his tastes in music run from Rock and Roll, to Soul, to Rhythm and Blues. And it comes through in his playing. When he picked up a guitar at age 14, he cut his teeth on a steady diet of Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Cream and Led Zeppelin. But not one to be limited by anything, he began studying other styles of music, such as reggae, jazz, alternative, and metal. His open-mindedness and love for his instrument has lead to the ability to fit into any musical context he is presented with."
Victor (bass)
"Victor has been keeping the groove going on bass for bands in Chicago, Kansas and Los Angeles for the past 15 years. More of a throw-back, his main influences are an eclectic group including James Jamerson, Willie Dixon, John Paul Jones and Allen Woody."
Andrew Stone (drums/percussion)
"Andew Stone's first expedition into the world of music occurred as a child in the 80s pushed into piano lessons by well-intentioned parents. After a few years of toilsome piano study (which he would later regret ending, of course) and a brief stint with voice lessons, Andrew discovered a passion for drums thanks to our nation's public school music program.
The early years were consumed by intensive study of rudiments and orchestral percussion, however, by the mid-90s he had discovered drum set improvisation as a member of the Jazz band and African hand drumming . This discovery along with a tireless work ethic, broadened
his percussive experience and led to him auditioning for and being selected for both the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra and the IMEA Illinois All-District & All-State Orchestras in 2000.
Branching out into Rock, Latin, Funk and Blues in high-school and college, Andrew now finds himself most comfortable when blending his love for all styles into the Rock/Pop format that the Prescription lay down so effortlessly."
