Making music, food, houses, theory, art, and conversations. Walking down traintracks in the evening, biking around town at night, walking in the woods in the morning. Scheming, laughing, dancing, and all the ways that bodies come together. Finding new ways to fight capitalism, new ways to do permaculture, and new dance moves. Working it out.
People who like to laugh, dance, go outside, and destroy capitalism. Sassy, argumentative, kind, occasionally humble people who don't care if I'm mildly behind the fashion curve. Folks who suspect that in order to have the kind of world we want, we have to make it, and we need new tools. People to organize with. People to go dating with. People to read books with. I have plenty of stunningly wonderful friends, actually, so I guess just fun smart people for the organizing, dating, and/or reading of books.
Music that I am dancing to with friends and/or exciting strangers. Music made for free by someone in the room. Music I'm making.
Burn, Hollywood, burn!
Anything that turns queerness or ethnicity into a commodity and uses it to sell hip and savvy audiences to corporatate advertisers with hip and savvy brand identities. I love that shit. Like, y'know, Black Eye for the White Guy?
Quirky, smart, apocalyptic sci-fi. Babs Kingsolver. Books on ecology, whiteness and anti-racism, complexity, systems theory, evolution, theoretical biology, cybernetics, new science, and sustainability. In my weaker moments: terrible pulp sci-fi.
My friends. And Gregory Bateson.
