WHAT?
The H.O.O.D. Movement 3 on 3 Challenge, founded in 2005 by NBA Superstar Carmelo Anthony, is a '3 on 3' basketball tournament for boys and girls aged 10-18. In addition to the ‘3 on 3’ basketball games,
There are 3-point and 2ball competitions for each age group and a “Family Day” with activities like carnival games, music, contests, food and more! The 2007 event will be hosted by BET’s Big Tigger and Rocsi! Other celebrities, guest speakers and radio personalities will also be on hand to mix and mingle with spectators. Confirmed to attend this year’s are: Allen Iverson, JR Smith, Ray Lewis, Shawn Merriman (San Diego Chargers), Andre “Bubbles’ Royo (The Wire)…and many more!
WHO?
Pre-registered Boys and Girls teams, aged 7-17 will play in an exciting ‘3 on 3’ Basketball Challenge with awards presented to the winners in each age group.
Boys and girls from area recreation centers will compete in the double elimination challenge and the tournament is divided into 5 divisions based upon age: 9 and under, 11 and under, 13 and under, 15 and under and 1 girls division aged 14-15. Each division will have eight teams of four players.

WHY?
The purpose of the H.O.O.D. Movement ‘3 on 3’ Challenge is to build community spirit in Baltimore by providing a day of excitement for the whole family to enjoy. The ‘H.O.O.D. Movement (Holding Our Own Destiny) was conceptualized by Carmelo to promote peace, responsibility and empowerment in young people. Carmelo’s goal is to make an impact on the lives of Baltimore’s youth by returning each year with a bigger and better day of Family Fun! Proceeds from the event will benefit The Carmelo Anthony Foundation.
PR Campaign
A strategic and focused PR Campaign will be launched to ensure that the H.O.OD. Movement Tour and its sponsors garner local and national press. Radio Partner 92Q will also do ticket giveaways and sponsor promotions in the Baltimore market. Press Coverage in 2006 included; AOL Black Voices, Local TV Stations WMAR, WBAL and WJZ-TV, ESPN News, Baltimore Sun and more!
