Occasionally, in the midst of countless records that convey the same sound and style, an inspirational breath of fresh air rolls around. At heighten times of dismay in the industry, we establish a positive movement that transcends the rap industry to another level of growth. Am-Track, often referred to as A.M.T., is the lyrical sensation the world will have no choice, but to open its eyes to see.
Originally from South Carolina, Ricky Foster known to the music world as Dirt Diggalah, envisioned A.M.T. in 1998. Influenced by groundbreaking artists such as Nas and Wu-Tang Clan, his style goes against the grain of a typical southern artist. Dirt Diggalah’s raspy voice and clever punch lines expresses a hypnotic spirit to all listeners.
The collaboration of two complex individuals began when Nesbit Bell, better known as Mr. Main, stepped on the scene in 2000. Being raised in the backwoods of Mississippi, he contributes his growth to Pimp C of UGK and the underground legend, Play-Fly. Mr. Main’s lyrics are well beyond his years of existence and reels listeners in with his underlying messages and intriguing stories.
Dirt Diggalah and Mr. main has established a cohesive unit that will spread growth and love around the globe. This talented duo has been evolving quietly within the world of music, but has brought enormous energy to the stage. In the Summer 2003, A.M.T. was the opening act for “Mr. Mississippi†David Banner on a 3-city Mississippi tour. Also, A.M.T. brought passion to the stage when they opened for Master P in Holly Springs, Mississippi in the Summer of 2004. A.M.T.’s drive and determination continuously opened up avenues for other performances with “up and coming†artists in the South. Along this journey to moderate success, their sounds have been mixed and collaborated with a range of hardcore rap to R&B sounds on various singles. In September 2006, A.M.T. was the much-respected headliners for the Summer Hummer/Low Rider Magazine Car Show in Buford, Georgia, where they blew the stage away with their highly admired hit single, Southern Bred. A.M.T. has also made appearances on a few underground mix CDs and since has released their own CD entitled, “Tha Chronicles of A.M.T.†hosted by D-Rock of the Ying Yang Twins. Currently, you will find A.M.T. on their everyday hustle and grind, where they frequently showcase their music at various venues in the Metro-Atlanta area.
Stay tuned for lyrical fervor of these humble, yet hungry young artists. Like the infamous words of Dirt Diggalah, A.M.T. plans to “Do Somethingâ€.
