Tokyo Disco Kid

About Me

The Tokyo Disco Kid brings a fresh sound to an over saturated market with his infectiously catchy hooks and socially conscience raps. Born and raised in Georgia, such artist as Beck, Outkast, RadioHead and Kanye West have had a big influence on the music that Tokyo makes today.
At the age of fourteen his mom bought him a keyboard, which helped to set the stage for what was to come. He has always had a love for a variety of music, but the keyboard helped him to focus on the combination of sounds that come together to create the music he loves. Today he has a home studio equipped with Pro Tools where he not only produces hits like “Fly Me” he also writes, arranges and records the vocals to complete the tracks. Writing music is something he began doing at the age of fifteen where he wrote the songs that were used in an alternative band by the name of Spectrum in which he was the lead singer. Coming from a tough childhood as explained in “Used To Be” music became an outlet for him to express his feelings regarding certain areas of his life.
“I am inspired by day to day life. Reality sometimes can be harder than anything shown on TV. By writing about things that occur in my life it is easy to put depth in the metaphors that I have created in my lyrics because the words are so real to me.”
With songs like “On the Way” and “Searching” that blend different genres of music it is clear to hear that the Tokyo Disco Kid’s sound can be enjoyed by a wide and diverse audience. Nine years in the making Tokyo has perfected his craft to a point that he is now ready to share it with the world. His main goal is to inform us of the “Story of the Kid” and help us look through a clear “Windshield” at the truth in his message.
