Writing, chatting with friends .., the San Diego Chargers and the Boston Red Sox, reading, working around my house, and anything fun that might come my way!
I'd like to meet:
Bill Clinton, Jon Stewart, Viggo Mortensen
Music:
To me choosing your music is a way of creating the soundtrack of your own life. If a heart has been julienned by a sharp paring knife and left on the sidewalk who hasn't heard the mournful wail of a lonely sax off of Beale? By the same token if you're in the mood to move, a little Honky Tonk Badonkadonk will do a body good.
My CD collection would label me a schizophrenic. My soundtrack runs the gamut from 80s rock to current country and everything in between. Good music is good music, whatever the genre.
So...in no particular order, rock wise I like Van Halen (David Lee Roth days), Mr. Big, Dokken, Winger, Night Ranger, Guns N Roses, Metallica, Megadeth, W.A.S.P. and the current bands like All-American Rejects, Hinder, Fallout Boy, Lifehouse, Evanescence, Avenged Sevenfold, etcetera. Country I like Keith Anderson, Trace Adkins, Phil Vassar, Jack Ingram, Montgomery Gentry, etcetera etcetera. If it's good (to me) it doesn't matter what genre it is, it will have a home in my CD collection.
Movies:
Again, running the gamut from A to Z, on one hand I could watch Die Hard over and over again, and then also Casablanca. And Return of the King. And Star Trek II. This is Spinal Tap and Fear of a Black Hat. I love Galaxy Quest and Legally Blonde. Gigi. An American In Paris. The Green Mile. I'm a sucker for a Bond movie. My new favorite is They Came From Beyond Space for being mesmerizingly bad. It's like a train wreck, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Etcetera (add ellipses here)
Television:
Most of the TV shows I like get cancelled. It is the curse of Claire. Starting at a very young age with When Things Were Rotten and Hot L Baltimore and continuing with American Gothic and on to the present day with the demise of Carnivale and now Rome (killed another one). I was actually amazed that Highlander: The Series made it as long as it did (and spawned a truly awful spinoff and a dreadful movie). Lexx was one of my favorite series. I don't watch a lot of TV unless it's GAC or VH1, or the Chargers - it takes too much time.
Books:
Oh boy, here we go again. Honest, I don't speak to the voices, the voices speak to me! Anyone from Stephen King to Anne McCaffrey, Ruth Wind...and Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. I've recently gotten into paranormals by authors like Laurell K. Hamilton, Maggie Shayne, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan and Marjorie M. Liu. I have three massive bookshelves full of books I've read and couldn't part with.
