About Me

The Greedy Robots- "It's My Way Or No Way At All"It's a late summer evening, and you're dining in a perfectly ordinary bar-n-grill just off the beltway in Anytown, USA. The place is your typical smelly excuse for a "sports bar", with a special garage-like wall that in summertime is opened up to reveal a large wooden outdoor deck sporting iron furniture with large, beach-sporty umbrellas on a pole in the center of the tables. In the far corner, between two 12" Crate P.A. speakers (each with tweeter and special stand), sitting on a borrowed barstool with a Martin acoustic guitar, illuminated by two colored light bulbs, is the Dick On the Deck: a man just over 30 who eeks out a living singing songs like "American Pie" and "Heart Of Gold" for a nightly fee of $50, a free cheeseburger platter, and whatever change is thrown in the empty guitar case sitting in front of the stage, while spending his days sleeping until 2 p.m., doing a few household chores for one of a few co-eds ten years his junior that he's currently squatting with for free rent, (they just know he's going to be famous someday), then heading out to drive all over town looking for a three-finger bag before playing ladies night at the bar-n-grill. Before you know it, you're locked in a Dodge van with a payload of guitars and amplifiers for three long years, playing in the backing band for the Dick On the Deck. Things don't go so well when fame doesn't come easy. He fires the manager. He thinks the band is out to steal his money and sponge off of his name. He broods silently in the van...he goes postal when he can't find his comb...he freaks out onstage in Chapel Hill, NC, in front of an intimidating audience of two combined sorority houses...he tells his band it's his way or no way at all. Nobody cares. Then one night on a full moon in October in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the shit hits the fan... The Greedy Robots take you on a musical journey inside the mind of the stereotypical self-centered prima-donna singer-songwriter that exists in every American city; the acoustic guitar-strumming semi-grifter who wishes for fame but continually sabotages his best chances; the kind of guy who takes a Texas-sized ego and self-esteem the size of a mustard seed, and combines it with a personal philosophy that is a cross between college football tailgating culture and Donovan Leitch.

Hello fans of the robots

Glad to be getting great feedback on the music and site. This project has been in the making for years. We just wanted to vent and have fun our way. Music should be fun. Never DEAL with a pre-madonna....
