I am the newly crowned "Bawlmer's Best Hon" for 2006 and I want to introduce you to everything "hon." Bawlmer (for the uninitiated, that's Bawlmerese for "Baltimore") is my hometown, where I grew up and learned the way of the beehive force, hon. In Charm City I was taught how to dissect a steamed crab for the precious bits of succulent meat, drink Natty Boh, use Aquanet by the caseload, and didja know the beehive was created in Bawlmer?
In the 80s, Bawlmer was the home of BIG HAIR, and I sported some massive 'dos (and don'ts!). Hammerjacks and The Rage were center-stage in my headbanging universe and I supported bands like Child's Play, Wrathchild America, KIX, Honor Among Thieves , the Ravyns, Crack the Sky and most local rock bands.
But as my headbanging glory days came to an end, I decided to become a liberian (that's Bawlmerese for librarian, hon) and I traded in my zebra-striped spandex for sensible shoes and the Library of Congress classification system!
