Young Riplee, who started rapping at the age of 12, is known for his hypnotizing hooks and hard hitting beats.David Chatmon, also known as Young Riplee, was born in Goldsboro, NC. however, his home has always been Lake Village, AR. Young Riplee's interest in music began at the age of 5 when he got his first Casio keyboard. Taking piano lessons would lead him down the path to making his own music. Young Riplee attended high school in Tucson, AZ., where he began to freestyle and was known for attracting large crowds. Riplee became known for his freestyle battles on campus, which led him to form a group, and open shows for The Black Eye Peas, Emanim, Ja Rule, Mya, Red Man, Ludcris, Field Mob, Xzebit, lil Troy, Mike Jones, Eve, and a few others. A long hard struggle and grind would lead him to pursue a solo career.
