About Me

In mid 2006 The Sundancer made a decision to break his cover in the music world...There have been over 50 live performances in Scotland, including three festivals (Indian Summer, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Retrofest), an e.p release (Out of The Woods), yet to be released recordings with several collaborators and a solo produced and played collection of songs Spontaneous Lo-Fi Sounds.A total communication assault has been launched into the heart of culture. At www.thesundancer.co.uk two books have been published along with several cd’s.‘I really dig the OUT OF THE WOODS E.P. by The Sundancer. It has that ever-increasing loose acoustic soul groove found on the first Dino Valente LP or maybe the first two Stephen Stills albums. I wish the songs were at least twice as long, but this first statement has a beautiful end of a hot summer vibe about them. ‘ Julian CopeThe Sundancer and band are currently recording the first The Sundancer album with sax, sunglasses, guitars and dancing girls. The Skinny Magazine and Green Door Studios in Glasgow thought The Sundancer songs were so good they offered to record new material for free. It's a 21st century mix of Bolan, Bowie, Lennon, VU, J&MC and outrageous, subtle and soporific gnostic meditations on existence...

Lethbridge, T.E. Lawrence, R.D. Laing, Klaus Kinsky...philosophers, explorers, shamen, psychedelic journeymen, pagan existentialists, ancient stone circles and monuments spread across the planet, the Sky, the Earth, the Moon and the Sun, the stars and beyond the stars, Nothingness and Everything... oops, just sailed off somewhere there...The Beta Band, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, The Doors, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, Tori Amos, Verve, Mazzy Star - you name it, if it's good, creative and not over-produced bland shite then add them alll onto the list too.
