About Me

The Dusty Roads Band blends funk, jazz, blues, roots, rock, and reggae into something all their own!!! They cut their teeth playing cover songs in bars and hotel lounges doing Eric Clapton tunes and other assorted "less popular" '70's rock. You can hear this influence in the music they write and you can see and feel it in their live performances................................................ .................................................The Dusty Roads Band is; Dustin Harder (Lead/backup vocals, electric and acoustic guitar) Jessica Ayre (Lead/backup vocals) Jake the rhythm section is; Jake Bell (Drums and all manner of percussion) Jake Stead (Electric/upright Bass and percussion) They're joined by sideman extraordinaire Jeremy "Blind Boy Wonder" Rusu (Keyboards, clarinet, harmonica, accordion and mandolin)The D.R.B. has been shattering audiences and rocking dance floors all over Southern Manitoba for the last year and were recently declared the "Surprise Hit!" by their fellow performers at the '07 Brandon Folk Music and Arts Festival. The band is currently hard at work on their debut album to be released in May '08 and they're giging harder than ever! We'd like to thank Jesse Denatalee for his kind words "Dusty Roads you sure can play"....................................................... ....................................................."Dustin Harder and his band The Dusty Roads Band were a huge hit at our festival this summer. The energy from the band kicked the audience in to a new place and kept them up dancing for the rest of the night. The passion and intensity that Harder puts through his guitar is immediately apparent, and back by an unrelenting rhythm section and the exquisite voice of Jess Rae-Ayre, they take rockin' blues to a whole new level and can jump from genre to genre in a drop of a hat. It's quite understandable why this band was the only one to get an encore at our festival. Undoubtedly, The Dusty Roads Band would be an excellent addition to any lineup. We are extremely excited to have them back as our Friday night Headliners for the upcoming 2008 Festival." Matt DuBoff "Artistic Director"................................................... ............................................................ ................."We had the band in Altona for A Night Out With The Blues on December 29/07, and after a 5 minute sound check they were set up, tuned up, and completely energized to go all night long(and did)." "The Bands Versatility provides a great mix of music and genres: something for everyone. We asked them to mix up music just slightly, but stick mostly with the blues. They did exactly that by throwing in some Rock and Roll, a funk tune here and there some reggae and country styles as well: all with equal musical passion and energy.""I'd recommend this band for any venue and any crowd. They won't disappoint."Carey Kehler Program Director "A Night Out With The Blues"
