About Me

Subsequent to being inundated with demands to get my myspace profile sorted and thus the duration of time there has existed a somewhat bleak profile of myself on the World Wide Web, I feel it is appropriate to put right this flaw, and in doing so rectify any erroneous misconceptions that I may possibly be an individual whom comprises no general interests, passions and desires...Life began in a relatively small, some might say quaint, friendly, and nontoxic suburban town called Nailsea, situated in the rolling hills of North Somerset (argue if you will). Yes it’s, I suppose aesthetically pleasing however lying beneath its suburban Charm exists a town rife with mundane boringness populated by an utterly alien species to my friends and family (my step-father not included). Thereafter I spent a memorable and indeed fond three years studying History of Art at De Montfort University, Leicester. My university experience was enriching and joyfull. During my last year of university, as every student can empathise, I began to realise the inevitable and fast approaching prospect that university life was gradually coming to an end. As a result I began to contemplate what to embark on next. With this in mind and the predictable deterioration of my friendship group I found it somewhat hard to comprehend that Leicester as a city, standing alone, could continue my happy disposition (it really does have only so much to offer, much of which is exhausted in the first two years). As a result I was left thirsty to embrace something fresh and exhilarating. Hence forth I am now living and working in London. I live with three close friends in, as my house mates and I like to call it "Turnpikey Lane", known to fellow Londoners and to the abhorrence of local home owners as Turnpike lane, situated in north London.

My Interests

My family and friends, frequenting Museums and art galleries for their plethora of ‘art’ and ‘culture’ (the latter argue and define if you will), history and politics. My chief interest comprises 19th and 20th century British, German, French and American visual arts. I’m particularly interested in avant-gardism and thus the concept of bohemianism as a by product of this visual phenomenon. On an everyday basis; fine food, alcohol (when funds permit) and smoking.Furthering my scarf, tie and cravat collection, in failing to replace Nicolas Serota of the Tate gallery, or curating in general for the matter, I shall endeavor to open my own ‘neck ware museum’

I'd like to meet:

Call me greedy, but...Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, Duncan Grant, Oscar Wilde, Jasper Johns, Tracy Emin, the Pope, the Queen, Tony Blair and his power Hungary friend, Fern Cotton and Phillip Scofield. On myspace..Individuals with something interesting to say

Television:

University promotes procrastination and thus television is an attractive lure. Over the last few years I have found my self watching the most mind numbing nonsense in order to deter myself from studying. Since graduating and thereafter embarking on full time employment I no longer find the time to watch television with the exception of polemical documentary types. I am however still mourning the loss of Neighbours. Quite simply I’m in television rehabilitation.

Heroes:

The loose association of artists, writers and intellectuals formidably known as the pioneers of British bohemianism…AKA the Bloomsbury group
