Giorgio Viva is a 360 degrees artist: painter, set designer, electronic musician, dj, illustrator.
He has studied Art @ Art Accademy in Lecce and he takes part in several art shows.
Giorgio Viva is the example of how an artist must be able to compare himself with the different forms of expression, just like artists used to do in the Renaissance.
His musical background takes inspirations from the 80's industrial music scene: "Throbbing Gristle", "Cabaret Voltaire", "23 Skidoo", "Esplendor Geometrico", "Spk" etc'.
In the early 80's, Giorgio has seen the evolution of the house music scene taking place in Chicago and Detroit, so he began collecting different records of house (one of those records was the classic "Can U Feel It" by Mr. Fingers) and eventually he decided to buy his first per of turntables which helped him make some demos that he started spreading them around.
This gave him the opportunity to start playing in many clubs in south of Italy: "Metropolis", "Malè", "Terenzano Club", "Castello Koreja", "Sausari", "Zoo Nights", "Horse Club" to name a few.
In the beginning of his career his DJ sets were influenced by "the wild pitch sound", producers such as: "DJ Duke", "Armando Gallup", "DJ Pierre", etc'.
Today his musical taste is still opened to a lot of new forms of house music, and he plays mostly deep house, house, minimal and techno.
Giorgio's sets can be best described like a landscape movie, trying to give musical images of a sunny space from where he lives in Italy, a space that never seen as sleepy, the things remained always the same, but even able to communicate with the rest of the world.
His musical performance as "S.O.G.T" (Son Of Great Transformers) (www.sogt.it), from internet radio broadcastings, to "sound paintings" and mix collections, are examples of the research and at the same time of the wideness of studies and documentation that he been a part of in recent years.
