not because I have...but because I have FAITH

About Me

08.24.06
Wednesday was an odd day for my b-day to land on, but that just means more partying time for me, the celebrating has just begun. I'm working from home since the beginning of the month due to another layoff at-yep it was that time of year for me-AGAIN, and I'm no longer working at PCI. This cycle has to end, I got a mortgage to pay now...I'm not worried though, I know that I am in good hands :~)05.20.06
I'm settled in my new home, and I think I might be enjoying living by myself a little too much. Thankfully, I have some good friends that force me to come out and socialize every once in a while. The result of being forced to be a hermit for more than 6 mos: some physical changes, a change in lifestyle and having to redefine yourself...oh well, I guess we all have to grow up sometime.12.26.05
The day after Christmas and the best gift is the one I'm giving myself, my own place. I'm packing right now, and if all goes well, by tomorrow afternoon I'll be the proud owner of my very own brand-spanking-new townhome. I'll be moving out, finally, I can't wait, I don't care if I'm on crutches, I'll just need a little help, or maybe a lot of help... ;~)09.20.05
I started my new job a day late because of a sprained ankle and I've been in crutches for the past 3 weeks and also unable to drive. I've developed a new armpit muscle, and I am now a great balancing act that can hop on one leg for days. Other than that, my new job is going great as Art Director, my new work environment is very relaxed (anything would be after working at a newspaper) but the work is much more creative - I get to play with fonts and colors all day long :~)08.05
For this month, besides it being my birthday month ;-) I'm focusing on Sun Arts Foundation. A soon-to-be non-profit organization in honor of my friend Phoenix. Before she left us-she purchased some land in the Hill Country and she wanted it to be a community dedicated to artists, musicians, poets, a haven of sorts to cater to creativity. I'll be working on designing their logo and some brochures to obtain support and volunteers. The website is in progress but you'll be able to check it out at: www.sunartsfoundation.org07.05
Life is not bad right now, kind of in limbo at the moment, a great opportunity to work has been found, except the work doesn't start until September; GOOD NEWS is that it is here in SA. Maybe later I'll have something more interesting to write about.

In TRANSITION at the moment...with my career, there is no such thing as job security, the average span of any stability in my life is about a year. Which makes me a person of faith growing stronger and stronger with every curve ball that life throws at me.

(edit)Right now my life mainly consists of work and when I am not at work, I am recuperating from work. I work hard...I'm doing design/layout for a startup-spanish-newspaper called RUMBO, it is a startup company which means a lot of long hours and a lot of stress for me, but I'm hanging in there! Before this new job, I was freelancing design projects and I actually had a life, always broke but I made the best of it. I am also wrapping up a CD project in which I was teaching graphic design on the weekends for an organization called Healing Arts. The girls are pregnant or have kids, but they are under child protective services, which means they have been abused and/or abandoned. They are recording songs, prose, or flowing and I am helping them design the graphics for the cd. It is a very rewarding project, I can't wait to see the results.

I'd like to meet:

And for you guys that are just looking to get another pretty face on your friends list, sorry, but I won't be a part of that...
