About Me

"Tuesday"

Come on in, the water's fine
..
The loves of my life:
Jen and Tuesday
I love my family. They mean more to me than almost anything. I love seeing my great-nieces and great-nephews do their chosen things (dance, softball, t-ball, etc.) I am looking forward to seeing them grow up to become the men and women they are destined to be.

I try to live life without regrets although I don't always succeed. Having regrets is futile. You make your decisions based on the information you have. If the decision is the wrong one and it can be fixed then fix it. If it can be made more tolerable then make it so. But if there is nothing you can do about it then let it be. There can be no "what ifs" in life. You will never know how any other choice would have turned out, so why fret about it? Just make the best of the situation and get on with your life.
I am a different person than I was just two short years ago. I have had to change my whole philosophy of life. I now do things I never would have considered doing before... some out of necessity; others just because they feel right. My new outlook on life is if it won't hurt me or anyone else then why not try it. Life is way too short.
I hate being lied to. Even more so, I hate being lied about. I hate when people play games. Just be honest and up front.
My friends say that I am a cynic. I believe I am more of a realist. I take just about everything with a grain of salt. I think I should be from Missouri. I have been told that I am a curmudgeon. Connie always said I was incorrigible but then again she loved me!

My Interests

Here is a picture of us on our vacation. It may be hard to see us since we are in our camo shirts and blend in quite well with the foliage at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Disney World, discovering new music, Disney World, reading, being with my girl, being with my family, being with my girl at Disney World. Did I mention I love Disney World

I'd like to meet:

People who open new views for me. Those who will help me broaden my horizons.

Music:

+++++++++++++++

My musical tastes have expanded thanks to my girl, Jen. Thanks Baby!

I have always loved Oldies (late 50's/60's.) 60's bubble gum is a guilty pleasure. The music of the 80's. Raggaeton. Another guilty pleasure is the music from the "Bollywood" movies. As far as artists go: Jane Olivor; Shakira; The Beatles; The Doors; Jason Mraz; Gary Allan; Staind; Smash Mouth; Michele Branch; Kumbia Kings; Avril Lavigne; I could go on and on. I think there is no music I will not listen to.

Movies:

I like a lot of older stuff. What a way to go; Captain Blood; Trouble with angels; Let no man write my epitaph; Singing in the rain. I think my all time favorite though is The Dirty Dozen.

Television:

Not much of a tv watcher these days. NCIS and Las Vegas when I remember they are on. Most of the BritComs, especially The Vicar of Dibley. Star Trek: the next generation. Favorite show of all time though is Max Headroom.

Books:

I am currently reading The Devil's Gentleman by Harold Schecter.
A prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving is my absolute favorite. I will read anything by John Irving. Anything by Tom Robbins. Rita Mae Brown is another favorite author.

Heroes:

My late partner, Connie

You made me a better person. You will always be in my heart.
