About Me

i'm celebrating my post-teenage-technology dysfunction by signing up to this here 'weblog' organisation. let's call it an adventure. a search. a means of procrastination. for all i mind, one could liken this to cow pat bingo.. my point being that myspace or youtube or whatever it may be, i'm still in msnmessengerville.. and right now i don't know which buttons to press to get this fandangled peer-to-peer interconnectivity to work for me. so, i invite you to learn with me.. all you lost and lonely early 20somethings who missed the boat on "emo" and celebrated at least a part of your high school life calling your friend's home phones for 25cents. (to the late 20somethings that failed to get the scoop on this 3 years ago: it's over. try the rsvp site.. bigger icons, better laughs). i've just noticed that there's an "interests and personality" section for me to rant in. Lucky! i have both those things. do you? you must! they made a button for it. see, common ground already... strive on brothers and sisters..found this retro layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com

My Interests

i am interested in music of most genres. i sing some of them. play violin to others. even dance poorly to most. when you put those together, it means i'm in music theatre sometimes. i am interested in food and the eating of it.. molesting clothing stores.. searching for wireless internet connections to pirate.. drinking coffee and discussing, you know, stuff.. hypothesising potential career paths.. karaoke-ing (japan style).. movie-watching.. people-watching.. staying interested..

I'd like to meet:

anyone that has achieved fame and fortune via this medium. any tips? except sandi thom. you failed the system. no deal.

Music:

as a good friend once told me, i tend to appreciate most groups whose name involves a 'the', followed by a noun, ie the beatles. in general, i respond well to male voices and often shudder at womanly sound - though i feel i may have been scarred by female power vocalists of the 80s and 90s. which is, in fact, one of the greater ironies of my existence..

Movies:

i enjoy heading out to the cinema and eating too much popcorn and peanut m and m's. i rustle packets at the wrong times and often get motion sickness in documentaries, but i truly enjoy the film-going process. my favourite films? it's a very mixed bag. the sound of music/four weddings and a funeral/ amelie / sabrina / breakfast at tiffany's / gilda / robin hood prince of thieves / ferris bueller's day off / i heart huckabees. hard to pin point what i really like there.. and there are many many more..

Television:

i am lobbying for the miniseries to come back into TV vogue. until then - house, scrubs and neighbours do me fine.

Books:

let's get literary. i read, and happen to be doing an english major at uni. doesn't mean i know a lot, or that i'm exceedingly well read. it does mean that by 2008's end, i'll have a piece of stamped uni paper saying i have licence to tell you what i really, really, really think about a text. but don't worry, i won't.

Heroes:

the person that first employs me with said english major, sees potential and pays me excessively to blather on, just like this. how defeatist! how uninspiring! no no.. how great. H-E-R-O.
