Aura, born Carl J.R. Gibson, is tha newest artist from the emerging hip-hop scene of Rochester, NY. Rochester, NY and Upstate, NY as a whole have always been overshadowed by the power and dominance of New York City. But Aura plans to change that. No stranger to street life, he had dealing live every other average black male growing up in the hood. Poverty, Murder, Prostituion,Robbery, Low income, etc was what he grew up around. He always thought it could be someting better out in the world for him, so a blessing came around 2003 for his family. He had to relocate to Atlanta at the age of 16 because his father was in the military. There is where he started taking rap seriously. There we was on a couple of mixtapes, and work wit groups like the Demolition Squad, The goonies, And his present team Hustlers District. To get more of a buzz in his homtown Aura moved back to Rochester to get known more in his hometown for a couple of months. There he practiced his style more and got more creative. He also learned how to be more versatile with his song, and not just pertain to one coast. Now Aura is on the move, and isn't letting anybody stop him, or get in his way.
