Larry Love's use of prose and metaphor make him unlike any other rapper in the game today. His intellect shines through, and his delivery unmatched. Love's honest portrayals of life on the street are refreshing and do not revolve solely around drugs and gun play. Larry Love is continually perfecting his skills and has and will continue to impress everyone who hears his music.
Larry Love, born "Tyirik Gibson," was born on August 17, 1983, in Rochester, N.Y. Things were always rough for Larry, who is the oldest of five kids. Love's original aspirations revolved around becoming a professional athlete. As a star high school basketball player, he was recruited by colleges in hopes he could help their programs win. Things were looking good for Larry, until at the age of sixteen, he was seduced by the streets. Numerous run-ins with the law left him without the chance of going to college. Too many of his friends had succumbed to the drug game and Love would soon follow.
Things would then take a turn for the worst. Larry was expelled from numerous Rochester area high schools, and the charges against him would keep piling up. After a close call with a felony conviction, Larry Love started to wise up. He realized he had a responsibility to his younger siblings and to himself. It was around this time that he fully came to realize his potential as a poet and rapper.
The people of Rochester have begun to take notice: "The response from the community kept things going" says Larry. "The Roc is the lost borough, we another Harlem or Brooklyn. It goes down here."

"Larry Love has great command of the English language, not to mention
street slang. For those who don't know, Conkey Avenue—more affectionately referred to as C-Keys—is the city borderline at which point Rochester meets Harlem.
Love appeals to the Grown and Sexy yet he has leverage to weigh the interests of our youth, including our past youth. There's a certain nostalgia that arouses the inner spirit when listening to him spit rhymes. Poet, indeed: Nas is my favorite rapper, now second to Larry Love. If you admire artists such as Jada and Styles, Sigel and Cassidy, and even Grandmaster Flash and Afrika Bambaataa, then you're sure to love Love. He has taken the underground circuit by storm in a way that has not been since the debut of 50. Gutter in delivery, he is unrivaled by the street prose of artists such as Face—pick one: Ghost or Scar. Larry Love: Now a street legend, soon to become a hip-hop guru."
