About Me

I can't believe I actually got sucked into this. I started this page after I finally got tired of people asking if I was on Myspace. You know who you are. Feel free to send me a message if you know me. I will write back.

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.1 although I did tweak it with some of my own mojo. Most of the pictures or banners link to something. Click away and see if there's something you like.

My Interests

a

I'd like to meet:

I am not really looking to meet new people. I would like to hear from anyone who knows me and would like to keep in touch.

Music:

I love music--all kinds, but live and loud rock and roll is my preference. Sometimes it's fun to put the iPod on shuffle and see what comes up. I am a concert junkie, all the way from tiny club shows to giant stadium tours. We spend a lot of time on the road fulfilling this obsession. Here are some of my favorite albums--at least the ones I could think of right now. I know it is a pretty diverse mix.

Movies:

some of my favorite movies: The Godfather, Fight Club, Reservoir Dogs, Silence of the Lambs, The Shawshank Redemption......Lately I have been watching a lot of old movies, specifically spy movies from the '60s and '70s. My Netflix list currently has over 200 movies on it. I will probably never get to the bottom of it.

Television:

Tivo might be the single greatest invention ever. If you don't have it, you are missing out. My favorite current shows are 24 and Prison Break. I still think The Simpsons is pretty funny too. One of my favorite shows ever is The X-Files. Most shows that I really like seem to get cancelled because TV executives are stupid. Huff, Sports Night, and Arrested Development were all great shows.

Books:

My favorite book is probably The Shining, but I have read almost all of Stephen King's books, and I like most of them pretty well. I like all kinds of fiction from fantasy and sci-fi to crime novels and horror stories. Most of the time I read purely for entertainment--not to learn anything. Some of my other favorite books are The Godfather, The Hobbit, and all of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.

Grindhouse

We went and saw the latest Tarantino/Rodriguez film last night--the Grindhouse Double Feature.  I admit it was awesome.  If you are looking for a plot, this isn't the movie for you.  If...

Ohio

I just got back from Ohio.  We went for a family wedding, but I can make a vacation out of anything.  We flew into Cleveland, which is not one of the most attractive cities on earth.  W...

So I haven't written anything in a while.  2007 is already well under way.  In a few days I'm going to be 30.  I think it's bothering my mom more than it is me.  To get everyone ca...

State Fair

I promised to write about our trip to the State Fair, so here it is.  I am not much in a writing mood, so this will definitely be shorter than the last one.  We spent last Sunday at the Stat...

what's goin' on

Some people use their blogs to post something meaningful, or to ponder some deep thought.  Although I am not ruling that out entirely for future posts, this is not one of those blogs.  I hav...

Clapton

So I didn't write any of this, but I sure wish I did.  This was posted by Adam Duritz of Counting Crows.   I've just been reading some of the Richard Thompson/Eric Clapton discussion and I f...

Segway

We went to Austin last week for a few days.  Aside from a few bars on 6th St. and some excellent food, we were able to take a Segway tour of downtown.  Some of you may have noticed my new pi...

So we watched this movie last night called Downfall.  It is entirely in German with subtitles, so if that isn't your thing you have been warned.  It was all about Hitler and the last days of...

Clerks 2

We went to see Clerks 2 yesterday, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised.  I guess since I work with the public, I have always thought that Clerks was hilarious.  After seeing the t...
