Our family of patients continue to grow... reaching over 6,000 ...many of whom once believed they had to live with their pain. Dr. Pollard has helped many athletes, teens, moms and dads, professional men and women, babies and seniors attain and maintain a higher level of better health.

Dr. Pollard is a firm believer in the concept that good health includes proper nutrition, exercise and chiropractic care. To help spread his beliefs, he provides free community lectures.

Jianzhong Chen, L AC., DIPL AC., OBT
Dr. Chen comes from five generations of Chinese doctors, and has over 30 years of clinical experience in traditional Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, herbs and tuina. He has taught in NY at New Center College; The Pacific College of Oriental Medicine; and Mercy College, and in NJ at The Eastern School of Acupuncture &Traditional Medicine.

At the foundation of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the belief that the body and its vital energy (Qi) must be kept in good balance in order to maintain good health. If you are suffering with back pain, neck pain, digestive disorders, fatigue, headaches, insomnia, depression, allergies, stress or sports related injuries, acupuncture, herbs and tuina (chinese massage) may be the answer to your health problems.

Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles into the body at specific points, which have been empirically proven effective in the treatment of specific disorders. These points have been mapped by the Chinese over a period of 2000 years. Recently, their location has been confirmed by electromagnetic research. When the acupuncture points are gently stimulated, it creates a general feeling of relaxation. This serves to adjust the body’s electrical balance and re-establish the normal flow of vital energy to the affected regions. Herbology is a very powerful aspect of TCM. Patent or specific formulas are prescribed on an individual basis. Tuina, chinese massage, is a traditional method using pressure, manipulation and a variety of approaches to promote Qi and blood flow within the body. It is an extensive system used independently as well as an adjunct to acupuncture.

The World Health Organization states that acupuncture is suitable treatment for Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders; Respiratory Disorders; Gastrointestinal Disorders; Eye Disorders; Nervous System and Muscular Disorders. The 1997 National Institutes of Health Consensus Conference on Acupuncture recognized the effectiveness of acupuncture and stated that, "One of the advantages of acupuncture is that the incidence of adverse effects is substantially lower than that of many drugs or other medical procedures used for the same conditions."

Acupuncture and herbal medicine were the medicine for thousands of years in China. The FDA estimated in May 1993 that there were 9 to 12 million patient visits each year for acupuncture, and it continues to grow rapidly. Patients may feel some mild cramping, heaviness, distention, tingling, or electric sensation either around the needle or traveling up or down the affected energy pathway or meridian. Most patients require as little as two to three treatments for an acute condition, five for a chronic problem, and a longer series for degenerative conditions.

JP Montes, PT
JP Montes was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. He graduated as an MSPT in 1998, then continued on as a college instructor for his alma mater. There, he taught anatomy and kinesiology for physical and occupational therapy students. He also served as a clinical supervisor for his college's outpatient rehabilitation facility. Since joining the AIMS healthcare team in 2001, he has helped to rehabilitate many chronically ill patients, and restore them to good health. He accomplishes this by first doing detailed Range of Motion Studies, Manual Muscle Testing and Physical Therapy evaluations, and then he constructs an individualized physical therapy program according to each patients particular needs. The programs devised may include gait training, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, and neuromuscular reeducation. JP is an integral part of many of our patients healthcare programs.
