Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, my passion and love of music began at a young age. Growing up, I was exposed to various types of music from house to calypso, which has allowed me to DJ with an open mind. With much practice, I began to become better at my craft, and what started off as a hobby thrived. As I matured, I fine tuned my DJing skills by watching other great DJs & their techniques on crowd control. I then took this knowledge and expanded on it developing my own unique style.
Having worked with various DJs, promoters and playing different venues has allowed me to cross musical borders in many ways. It has provided me with priceless experience in terms of catering to the wishes of a multitude of crowds and I now excel in an array of music including: Hip Hop, R&B, House, Old School, Reggae and Soca/Calypso.
I have slowly built my reputation by appearing as a guest DJ on several local community radio stations in Toronto, Montreal and Buffalo NY. I also DJed and hosted a radio show, The Ultimate Mix Show, from January 2000 to June 2003, on the now defunct Global Groove Networks which operated through CHIN Radios 100.7FM and 101.3FM/1540AM dual band signal.

And in case you are wondering why the name DJ Shadow...I like Josh Davis's work but is was all about the Calypsonian, Shadow. His style is different from others with a timeless feel and that is how I try to play.
