Rocky Horror Picture Show Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I am a big fan of those song and dance flicks from the 20's on. I like the work of Danny Kaye, Fred Astaire, Bob Hope and Jerry Lewis (that's right, Jerry Lewis). I like foreign films like House of Flying Daggers, incredible film. I avoid teen movies like the plague and don't like horror unless it's psychological. Splatter flicks don't do it for me. Orgazmo. Cannibal! the musical. Baseketball. Fear and Loathing in Las vegas. I'll probably think of more later, but that's all I have for now.
I've really been trying to avoid the idiot box lately. Reality tv frightens me but not as much as the lame sitcoms about pretty young people. Neither is reality. Anyway, I like 24, this season anyway. I also like cartoons (yeah, I know). Family Guy, Venture Brothers and South Park have been very good to me. Sometimes, late at night, I watch Talk Sex with Sue Johannsen because, you know, she's old. It's funny.

Why are all our heroes so imperfect? I'd like to say I am past the point of hero worship, but I am still young and impressionable. My heroes are the single moms, the survivors of violence, those unwilling to let their voices be silenced. You fill in the blank. If you know someone like that, he/she is a hero to me. My mother is definitely one. My friend Laura is another, truly an inspiration.
