Arrr, other pirates and scurvy devils, such as:
Captain Morgan
Pirate Picard
Cap'n Crunch
I like my sea shanties loud and heavy, and especially live. And by the way, according to Korn in "Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery" - Pirate Ghost would suggest that a pirate died and became a ghost, but a Ghost Pirate is a ghost that later made a concious decision to be a pirate...
I'm into rock oddities like Korn, Mudvayne, Marilyn Manson, Queens of the Stone Age, Static X, Faith No More. German industrial like Rammstein, KMFDM, Megaherz. I like Wyclef Jean; his music has depth but it's fun too. A few Canadian artists like Hawksley Workman, Sam Roberts, Robin Black & the IRS, The Tea Party. When the mood dictates, I can listen to trashy hip hop and pop. I like all sorts of music; except country western and cowboy rock, but Dolly Parton is a pretty cool chick.
Hmm, what else is good...Prince, Deftones, Rob Zombie, A Perfect Circle, Kittie, NIN, The Sex Pistols, Motörhead, LL Cool J, Placebo, Danko Jones, System of a Down, Slipknot, Weird Al, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Beck, Lil Jon, Shocore, Hole, classic Metallica/Megadeth, Jewel

Arrr, that Johnny Depp is a fine actor, but he's no pirate! Johnny boy - stick to the scissorhands and portrayals of eccentric journalists
I like lots of movies - zombie, action, drama, b movies, anime, even a couple of comedies and chick flicks, but I'd much rather share a few of my favorite actors: Patrick Stewart, Jeremy Irons, Johnny Depp, Jeff Goldblum, Crispin Glover, Alan Rickman, Vincent Price, Billy Bob Thornton. I suppose I should mention a female...I'll go with Parker Posey
Oops! I can't believe that I left out Corey Feldman!

So many more; who remembers such things?
Marge:These seas are certainly heaving.
Pirate: No more than your bountiful bosom, milady.
Marge: Does that earring mean you're a pirate?
Pirate: Kinda.
So yes, I'm obsessed with The Simpsons. I like The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos; and most everything else on CBC/CBC Newsworld. And I like some of the stuff on HGTV and the Life Network. King of the Hill is funny. I like the Trailer Park Boys. The Chappelle Show was hilarious. Deadwood is great - the writing/acting is awesome and Ian McShane is stellar. And I love game shows. I'm not into a lot of television anymore, I spend more time mourning my favorites from the past - Voltron, Jem and the Holograms, Mr. Dressup (the classic ones with Casey and Finnegan), Hilarious House of Frightenstein, WWF in the 80's and early 90's, The A-Team (I think the A-Team started my obsession with jeeps), Beat the Geeks, The Norm Show, Freaks and Geeks, The Dana Carvey Show, The Richard Bey Show, Star Trek: Voyager, The (short-lived) Chair with John McEnroe, The Buzz, and classic episodes of The Nature of Things with David Suzuki.
Love In The Time Of Scurvy
I'm not a big reader, I'd like to read more but it makes me sleepy. I like Anne Rice, and Farley Mowat is great. And Joan Clark is good too. Harper Lee, Roald Dahl, Tolkien; all lovely. Clive Barker, Ray Bradbury, the works of Homer (not Simpson; the Greek dude)
Two departed land lovers who would have made fine pirates: Ernie Coombs and Vincent Price (actually, come to think of it, I'm having a recollection of Ernie in a pirate costume - Vincent too)
More awesome people: Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan, His Holiness the 14th the Dalai Lama, David Suzuki, Muhammad Yunus, George Galloway
