Frank has had music in his blood since day one. His father, an Army soldier met his German Mother while he was stationed in Germany. Brought up an Army brat, Frank saw many different cultures and experienced many different music styles early on. His parents were very supportive of his musical aspirations, especially his Mother who told him to "do what you feel". Frank's German grandfather was a music conductor and acclaimed musician who played many different instruments. This is where Frank picked up the music bug, and never looked back. As a teenager, Frank taught himself how to play the drums and the piano, by ear. In his high school's Talent show in 1988, his first band ISOLATION won first place with an instrumental song composed by Frank entitled "A New Beginning". This led to a recording contract offer that was turned down by Frank, because he felt the deal was a rip-off, and only benefited the recording company. Shortly thereafter, drug problems with guitarist Greg Davis led to the band's breakup. Frank continued to write and play in various local bands, but grew tired of ego-based lineups and decided to take the solo road. He decided to step out in front of the mic and was surprised at the positive feedback he got. His vocal range and style was being compared to Lou Gramm and Paul Rodgers on the local circuit. In April 1997, Frank attended the first ever ROCK AND ROLL FANTASY CAMP in Miami, FL. It was there that he met Foreigner's Lou Gramm. On the camp's last night, Frank and Lou Gramm shared the stage to belt out a rockin' version of the Foreigner classic "Double Vision", Lou stood there with his jaw dropped, he couldn't believe it. Frank had nailed the song. The story made national publications including People, Newsweek, Forbes and Sky magazine. In late 1998, Frank's music career came to a screeching halt, when his Mother who had been diagnosed with ALS-Lou Gehrig's Disease just months earlier, passed away. Frank was devastated, he didn't write or perform for three years. In 2001, he slowly started back up. In 2004, more bad news came Frank's way, his former guitarist Greg Davis was found murdered in his home, Frank found out about it on the local news. It appeared to be drug related. Today, Frank continues to write and record for what will be his debut CD to be released sometime next year. Currently he is singing and gigging with his band FRANK AND THE UNDERDOGS.Buy merch from Frank and the Underdogs at www.zazzle.com/foreigndog
