Hailing from Dunfermline, producers of talent such as Big Country & Nazareth, Shamanic are a 4 piece acoustic rock outfit. Formed in the summer of 2001 the band have been constantly playing both cover and original material gigs and have recorded a 3 - track EP in the time in which they have been together. The 3 - track Ep entitled "If Sunday" was recorded over a 6 month period and features Malcolm Cochrane (Zepyhrs) on Pedal Steel, Caroline Evans (Paul Simon&Others) on Violin and Pete Harvey on Cello. The EP was produced By Michael Brennan (Super Furrys, Snow Patrol) and the title track is featured on this page. Shamanic were formed by the merging of 2 bands, Steve & Kev (original Shamanic) and Ken & Tippy (HOnk). Their sound is somewhere in between Big Country & Ryan Adams. Steve uses his singer/songwriter influenes to help write the songs whilst Kens chours/delay guitar sound lets show his Big Country upbringing. Kev with his Jazz druming roots and Tippy with his Modish upbringing former a tight rythmn section. Although the band have had interests from record labels the band remain unsigned and are constantly writing new material and giging hard. Look out for new material at the end of the year.
