Asylumcam History

In the Spring of 1998, the Asylum Clan decided that it was time to move off base and into a house they could call their own. The town of Sedalia was chosen as the location to look for a house. As Pooky worked in Sedalia during the days, she started scoping out the houses for sale and as good prospects were found, she send digital pics to Doc. One day in May on the way to look at one house, Pooky was driving down a sidestreet and spotted a large white house that appeared to be well kept and had a fantastic front door - and most interesting of all was the For Sale Sign in front of the house. Something about the house just called to her and said "Come Look At Me". Doc, soft touch that he was and still is, gave the agreement to take a look at the house even though it was not exactly what he was in search of. Walking into the house for the first time, for Pooky it seemed as if the house was already home. By the end of June, the clan was moving in. Pooky’s feeling on the house was that she "needed to put it back to the way it was supposed to be." On September 14, Moebanshee, Adamsdad, Amon Skywalker and Rhonda will pay a visit to the R&R Station in Mt. Pleasant, PA where they will spend the weekend conducting an investigation of this haunted bed and breakfast.The location of the building was instrumental during the 1930’s as it had housed railroad workers during the construction of a turnpike that was within close proximity to the establishment...The R and R, currently family owned and operated, was constructed in 1883. The sev­enteen-room inn is reported to be home to fifteen spirits. Apart from two previous owners who are supposed permanent residents of the inn, the R and R serves as home to guests who had checked in but never checked out.We start our story off somewhere on the VerrazanoBridgethat connects Staten Island toBrooklyn. After being stuck on the “bridge from hell” for a lengthy amount of Moe finally arrived and we had set off for our long journey to the haunted bed and breakfast, R and R Station. As Moe and I arrive at the R and R, Sherry Wing­rove who is the current owner of the R and R warmly greeted us. As it was well past midnight, just pulling up into the parking lot, the feeling of creepiness had already mildly settled in.As we entered through the side entrance that led into the dining room, we noticed the old-fashioned Victorian style décor was warm and inviting. However, I felt a slight undercurrent of apprehension as we made our way upstairs to settle in. The room Moe and I occupied, Room #8, had been the bedroom of two previous owners who resided here at the R and R during the early twen­tieth century; both previous owners still roam the building.It is said that one of the previous owners, Terrence Donnely is known to touch guests who sleep in his room. I had the fortunate pleasure – “YIKES” – of sleeping in Terrence Donnely’s bed while Moe slept in the other. Female guests that sleep in the former owner’s room had reported experiences of more than just a touch.Less than a minute after entering the room, I noticed that in the door-less closet up on top of the shelf, there was a side-less makeshift manger with a life-sized baby doll of Jesus. Creepy? You be the judge. Sleeping in a bed of a previous owner who still roams about the inn; even creepier.I had no personal experiences at all as we slept that night. However, Moe was abruptly awoken during the night and had reported the feeling nudging on her arm twice. Moe had later added that she heard a child-like voice saying “Help us” only a few hours afterwards.“During our first night there, it was at about 4 AM when someone nudged me twice in the arm to get my attention while I was in bed. I actually thought it was Amon telling me to get the “baby Jesus” out of the room”. – MoebansheeThe following morning, Moe and I were then joined by Rhonda and her husband Andrew. After breakfast, we immediately set about conducting an initial walk-though of the various rooms of the second and third floors. The equipment we utilized to better assist us in conducting our investigation consisted of digital camera’s, digital audio recorders, digital video recorders, a VHS recorder with tripod and a temperature gage to help detect cold spots.“I like to use VHS recorders as the image quality does not break up and become pixilated as it would with a digital recorder.” – MoebansheeWe made our way up to the second floor and checked out some of the rooms made available to us. At this point, I had already experienced the “corner of the eye” phenomenon a few times as well as the occasional cold spot. Rhonda was able to confirm the cold spots with the temperature gage.Of the many rooms on that floor, the Casey Jones Room – Room #12 seemed to give off incredibly creepy feelings where the dark interior decorating just added to the sensation. As uneasy as we felt, Rhonda and I found ourselves to be frequent visitors of the room. It wasn’t until later that night, Rhonda reported the sensation of being touched. Aside from some of us who experienced the sensation of chills, the second floor seemed eerie and quiet. “At one point while we were in the room, I experienced what felt like a soft touch. It was weird.” – RhondaMoe had taken her digital recorder and begun her rounds of “calling out” questions in the hopes that we would hear and capture a disembodied voice or capture an EVP.Rhonda and I decided to take a walk and head for the third floor. As we approached the stairs leading up to the third floor, we both heard what sounded like a small child or animal snoring. The sound originated from the center of the landing from where we stood. We tried to determine the source of the sound, but were unsuccessful.
