Worldwide Short Film Festival: SCENE NOT HERD
Feature music videos:
What will it be this year? Last year had fantastic videos like:
IS IT JUST ME--The Darkness
This hilariously egocentric video has lead singer Justin Hawkins walking down the aisle to marry the one individual he loves more than any other.
DESTROY (EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH)--Ladytron
A snow-covered mountain range holds many secrets; not so secret are the series of giant faces carved into its flanks.
BIRDS--Vitalic
A slow-motion doggy fashion show; complete with immaculate grooming, laser beams and scads of canine flair.
With 250 shorts in 30 programs including music videos, drama, animation, horror, comedy and more, there is a little something for everyone. Here's just a taste of what's going to be screened at the Worldwide Short Film Festival:
CELEBRITY SHORTS--Star power abounds in this collection of shorts made by or starring your favourite
actors and actresses. Whether taking creative
risks as actors or flexing their muscles behind the camera, these outstanding films prove that talent knows no bounds. And check out all the great Canadians making
their mark in Hollywood and in this program.
SCENE NOT HERD--Music videos, particularly the quirkier clips for artists from beyond the mainstream,
have in many ways come to represent a distinct subculture all their own. Whether via animation, live action, puppetry or some combination, music videos have come to represent their own subgenre of film that replaces
dialogue with cold hard rock and roll.
SLAP'N'TICKLE--They say that men think about sex every seven seconds. That may be so, but as the
shorts in this program show, women can hold up their end of the deal just as well. From fantasies run wild to the unforgettable reality of the first time, this year’s Slap’n’Tickle will bring back old memories and
hopefully inspire some brand new memorable moments. So take a walk on the wild side, as our ever-popular program of latenight humorous, sexy shorts returns. C’mon, you know you want to.
