Hi,I'm a special makeup fx artist,and I work in a group called "Mad Squirrel" which is situated in Belgrade,Serbia.The group consists of me(I have been working as a makeup artist since the year 2000),Lana Rakanovic "Ciza"( http://www.myspace.com/varvara_shnorkl),and Beca Rakanovic.
Our group formed during the filming of the movie "Sejtanov ratnik"(2004) which was the 1st movie in our country to ever have full prosthetic makeup in it.I was hired to design,sculpt,produce and apply all of the prosthetics in the film which included the main monster character,an old age makeup,wounds,body parts,and some monster makeups. Later,during the studio filming,I asked my girlfriend Lana and her sister Beca to join me on the building of a miniature castle that appears at the end of the movie,and since then,we are working together as a team.
The movie "Sheitans Warrior" won the award "ZlatnaMimoza" for the best makeup fx in the film on the 20th film festival of Hercegnovi in Montenegro.The film also won 2 awards for best set and digital composing.
The movie also appeared in Serbian Film Festival in Australia (Melbourne,Sidney,Perth).
Since then we worked on 2 feature films "Charllston for Ognjenka","Hitna pomoc",numerous tv series,theater plays and so on...
We still run the busyness of special fx and are perfecting our makeup skills as much as we can to keep up with new materials and techniques.
We are currently working on 2 feature films, "Sisanje" by Stevan Filipovic and "Vilenjakova prica" by Stevan DJordjevic,and also on 2 personal projects with my friends Filip Acovic(film director student) and Milan Krunic.
