About Me

For more than two decades Paul has asked the questions that garnered some of the most memorable moments in television history. Along with The Newlywed Game, Paul has served as the genial host for game shows on all three networks, including Rhyme & Reason and Trivia Trap for ABC, Card Sharks for CBS, and Dream House and Family Secrets for NBC. From his experience, Paul deeply believes that our success in life is directly attributed to the way we treat others. He shares this philosophy through anecdotes and personal stories. You will learn the truths and techniques that have made him successful in corporate America. While hosting The Newlywed Game, Paul learned the value of making those around you feel important. This led to his success in developing and managing the careers of Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, and Barbara Mandrell.

My Interests

design in nearly all it's forms (not much of a fashionista though), veg comfort food, animal issues, burning man, boozing it up with friends, bad cinema, ephemera, sweet sweet candy, magnolia, indie film, live shows, before and after photos, squids, lefty politics, cultural criticism, trying to wrap my brain around things I flat-out don't understand.

I'd like to meet:

someone creative in whatever form that may take.

Music:

varies wildly from old country, to beats, to hip hop, to indie rock, to film scores, to dub, to found sounds.

Movies:

good documentaries, bad noir, trashy horror movies. very little patience for indie drama cliches, but I'll watch 'em anyway. I'm a sucker for movies I like, just have a hard time nailing them sometimes.Somewhere in my all-time list would be 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Bad Seed, Being There, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, Dawn of the Dead, Double Indemnity, Dr. Strangelove, Kiss of Death, M, Man with the Movie Camera, The Manchurian Candidate, Miller's Crossing, The Night of the Hunter, Empire Strikes Back (the only good star wars movie), The Sweet Hereafter, and Waking Life. That's really a trimmed down list though.

Television:

I'll always cherish the desiccated husks of Mr. Show and UCB, beyond that it's just stuff grabbed online occasionally.

Books:

non-fiction and essays over fiction, though I do have a pretty active imagination. getting much more into science titles lately.

Heroes:

Not heroes, but I have an odd fascination with the lives of Joseph Cornell and J. Robert Oppenheimer ... not that I'd ever want to walk in the shoes of either of them.
