About Me

Another crazy 80's baby born in South Florida amongst all the drugs and violence of the time, Prhyme was the 2nd of 3 sons. His father left when Prhyme was 6 and they haven't seen each other since. His father has been locked up since around that time. " My father was a thug and a coke dealer and he was an abusive asshole so I didn't care when he left." His Uncles were some of the biggest drug smugglers in the country during the 70's and 80's. They were known as the "Smith Brothers" by authorities who didn't have their real identities, just their descriptions. Eventually the authorities busted them for a conspiracy to smuggle 50 tons of marijuana into the U.S.. In the meantime Prhyme was still living in Ft. Lauderdale with his mother and brothers. Prhyme and his brothers were attending M.L.K. elementary and their mother was struggling to make ends meet. To ease the struggle, their grandfather took Prhyme and his brothers to live with him and their grandmother in Tennessee. " My grandfather is a great man. He taught me allot of valuable lessons in life. My Pop had some young soldiers in training. He started teaching me to shoot when I was 8." Prhyme lived in Tennessee for 3 years taking care of his sick grandmother until she passed away. After his Grandmother passed Prhyme and his younger brother moved back to Ft. Lauderdale to live with their mother. They lived in an apartment right off of I-95 and SR-84. The neighborhood was plagued with drugs and prostitution. He attended Rogers Middle School and soon fell into the wrong crowd. " With my neighborhood and the school I went to, I was bound to get in trouble. All boys get in trouble, you just haveto hope they survive it." He was arrested the 1st time, at the age of 12, for stealing. In fact, he was arrested for the same crime a few times during his adolescence and teenage years. " Me and all my friends were broke. Allot of times we were hungry. We really didn't have much so we'd steal." At 13 he was expelled for having a weapon in school. The stress from the legal troubles was causing allot of problems at home. " I was a wild child there for a while. I didn't listen. I'd stay out roaming the streets all crazy hours of the night. Then I realized what I was doing to my family and I started to calm down." Prhyme went to Stranahan High School in Ft. Lauderdale and finally got a diploma. "Allot of people thought I wouldn't finish but I did". But even with the knowledge of his father and uncles going to prison for drugs, Prhyme and his brother still got into selling them. His uncles constantly told him, his brother, and his cousins not to follow the same road they did. Because, as soon as they reached the top it all came crashing down and they lost everything. But, Prhyme didn't stay out of the game. " We were broke and we couldn't get jobs so we sold drugs. All of us sold em'. They're ain't one person I grew up with that didn't sell. We sold anything and everything but I wouldn't sell coke or crack." But some of his closest friends were convicted for murder, attempted murder, armed robbery and of course possession and sale of illegal substances and Prhyme says that it really opened his eyes. " I've always loved rap music. I love 2pac, Outkast, Goodiemob. I like soul full music with a meaning. I like music that really makes sense. I feel that true music is an expression of yourself from your soul and your deepest thoughts. I realized that my grandfather and uncles were right and that making money the legal way is the only way to go. Poor people or people that are less fortunate financially have been resorting to illegal money in the street and its foolishness. Generation after generation has been rotting behind bars cause' we make the same mistake our fathers made. Its time to open our eyes. Its not keeping it real to make the same mistake as someone else. Thats fucking crazy." With a great attitude, good looks, amazing lyricism, and undeniable talent, this Florida Boy is headed to the top.
