Break out the pots and pans...

About Me

Robyn Harris
In the fall of 2003, Robyn played her first solo show in a small coffee house in Philadelphia. Just two short years later, she had released her debut album, Pocket My Pride, produced a video for her first single, One Step Ahead, and performed in countless venues in both the United States and abroad. On August 19th, less than a year after her full-length debut, Harris will celebrate the release of her highly anticipated sophomore effort, I Never.
Robyns latest release, I Never..., takes her songwriting to new heights, showcasing a medley of folkie storytelling, jazzy grooves, dance-your-heart-out beats, and even a bluesy cover of Aint No Sunshine. The record touches on love and friendship, as well as heartbreak and perseverance. With something for everyone, yet a cohesive link throughout, its sure to grab even the toughest critics.
But as impressive as her debut album was, and as inspired as I Never... is, you have not truly experienced Robyn Harris until you have seen her live.
"I am always struck by how poised Robyn Harris is for such a young performer. She has the ability to capture a crowds imagination, and to transform even the most jaded audience into a smiling, singing bundle of pleasantly surprised paying customers." Chris Trapper of The Push Stars
In fact, Harris is known for her audience participation -- often arming them with pots and pans to create an impromptu rhythm section, or outfitting an innocent passerby with a cowboy hat for her time-tested sing-a-long, Cowboy Hat.
"If you haven't yet heard Ms. Harris you owe it to yourself to get to one of her shows or buy her album. (orgivation.com)
Since the debut of Pocket My Pride, Robyn Harris has toured relentlessly, stopping only to record I Never. She has independently sold over 700 albums; hit such notable venues as The Tin Angel in Philadelphia, Caf.. Du Nord in San Francisco, and The Bitter End in New York City; produced a music video for her single, One Step Ahead (music.yahoo.com); and has made television appearances in both Philadelphia and California.
Robyn will continue touring later this summer and into the fall to support her August 19th release, I Never...

Band Members:On the latest record, I Never... Mark Bohn on drums, Mike Stang on bass and Kevin Hanson on lead guitar. Some incredibly talented dudes...
Influences: Hard to say who really breaks through and influences me, but I like Aimee Mann, Ani Difranco, Jonatha Brooke, Joni Mitchell, Patty Griffin, Sarah Harmer, Erin McKeown, Feist, The Beatles, Bill Withers, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Billy Bragg, ...stuff like that.
Sounds Like: That's always difficult for me to describe, simply because I just don't really know. So, I'll tell you what I've been told and you can tell me what you think. Some people say that my voice sounds like Aimee Mann and Chrissy Hynde from the Pretenders. My style is a bit ecclectic. I have some rocky tunes, some jazzy tunes, but an overall comtempory folk feel.
