MySpace Editor I'm generally an optimist. I don't see that anything good comes out of worry or dwelling on what bad thing might happen in the future. As the old adage goes: a hero dies once, a coward over and over. (Of course death is the ultimate experience to be afraid of and I admit to some fear about it. But I have a feeling that when it happens most of me will recognize it and be comfortable with it.) I live in a big city: San Francisco. I love it!! I always thought I would move to the country, but I never have, at least so far. There's something about the big dirty smelly old scary old city that I find exhilarating. But I do like to go outside into nature and put my feet on the actual earth at least once a day. On these outings I'm accompanied by my dog, Kona. He likes to put his feet on the actual ground also! I find if I have a problem, the earth can absorb it. I like to dig in the ground in the garden. I have a husband, Steamer who is a pilot. We have an airplane, a small one, and we have an aerial photography company. We aren't much interested in making money, but we've seen some beautiful things that put a whole new meaning on the term "earth tones". I've included one of these pictures in my slideshow. I also teach Aikido downtown on Mission Street at City Aikido. I've been to Tokyo twice to visit the Aikido World Headquarters, Hombu Dojo. And I visited the Kameoka Headquarters of the Oomoto religion.
The Oomoto religion is quite amazing! It was founded in the early 20th century in Japan. The Oomotos believe in world peace and in cooperation between all religions, as they believe the religious experience is the same no matter what words you want put on it. They also believe in a single language, Esperanto, that is a combination of several languages, mostly romance-type. This is a very useful religion for the modern era, I believe. I'm a friendly person. I'm mostly kind. I like to allow my life to happen without trying to control it. My attempts to control have all failed in the past, so I've learned from experience how to relax my mind and go with what's happening. When I don't get in touch with this relaxed part of myself for awhile, I will wake up to the fact that I'm running around in circles mentally like a gerbil in an exercise wheel. Whew that's tiring! I like to try to figure things out like Why So Many People Voted for George W Bush. I have a theory about this. I'm not by nature an early riser. I don't eat chocolate! (very unusual, or so it seems.) I've been learning to listen to others. Before I can listen I have to talk to the chattering part and say ok, you're there but let me find out something more now please.
