Ben Forster

Ben Forster is a singer/songwriter based in London. Originally from Sunderland in the North East of England he started his career at the age of 10 as an actor.
Ben discovered Stevie wonder and Roberta flack from his parents music collection and was incredibly inspired by the soul, motown roots of the sixties. He then developed the love of singing and would practise and sing along with these legends. And through this accidentally/unintentialy developed the unique sound you hear today.
When Ben was 16 he moved to London to pursue his career and trained at the world famous Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts. During this time Ben was chosen to be part of the BBC’s prime time fly on the wall documentary ‘ The Dream Academy’ which aired to over 3 million people.
Ben made his West End Debut at the age of 17 in the Broccoli Families (Producer of James Bond) West End Production of ‘La Cava’. He then moved onto a role in the West end Production of Lennon & McCartney’s Musical ‘All You Need Is Love’ it was whilst being involved in this show Ben discovered his love of great songs. Although he’d already dabbled in song writing he had never understood his passion for it until now, so at the age of 20 Ben was on the hunt for a record deal and signed with an independent label based in the North west. After recording and producing his first live Album of ten songs Ben was very excited, however this wasn’t to be long lived as the record company he was signed too went bankrupt.
At this point Ben was asked to return to the West End to star in The hit musical ‘Grease’ he played the part of Doody for one year and then went onto Tokyo, Japan for a further 2 months. He then returned back on to the music scene and signed a contract with K entertainment, MD of which is Nasty Nigel Lythgoe (producer of American Idol). And worked closely with them in London and LA.
Ben is now gigging the London music scene and plays at some of London’s top venues. Also playing to some top international artists such as Liam and Noel Gallagher and soul singer Gabrielle.
Ben has since signed with London Based record label The Schizofreniks and is writing and recording his new album, which is eagerly anticipated in the autumn 2008.
Ben was also rated in the Sunday Mirror in the Rated and Hated section. Thankfully he was in the rated section and was hailed the male Amy Winehouse.
