I settled with what came at me, but nothing settled when it came at me,
I was content with what I had and not I wanted to be.
I..ll deal with what life has dealt me and worry about the future from now on,
I won..t let anyone in because like the last they..ll be the next to say I..m leaving, I..m gone.
I..ll ignore the past and live my life for right now,
I..ll block the pain and replace it with a smile.
One day i..ll find someone who in the truth I..ll be able to confide,
One day someone will realize the smile on my face is upside down on the inside.
Life and my thoughts seem to clash at a brief moments notice,
Vision and happiness in my head seemed to be always and forever out of focus.
Clouds seem like a perfect place for my thoughts to rest,
If I could I would borrow the texture to provide for my feelings a beautiful nest.
Clouds have feelings too and seems to cry every now and then,
I could see their faces and it always seems to be covered with another man..s sin.
If I could visit there for any amount of time everyday,
Home would never be this young man..s place to stay.
My life on earth would be no longer of any importance to me,
In the clouds I would set my spirit, emotions, and every part of me free.
I can only imagine the lightness of my heart being way up there,
My problems I would try my best to diminish into thin air.
How high and far it is from that place of unreality, I don..t know,
But it..s a journey i..m willing to take through rain, hail, sleet, or snow.
For now my imagination will suffer the longing to escape to that beautiful place in the sky,
For now I will hold on to that three letter word B-Y-E.
Save me a spot because I..ll be there sometime in the far future,
For now my life here will have to endure.
See you later my distant friends suspended way up in the air,
I..ll be alright down here as long as someone still cares.
