Starving Daughters
Starving Daughters began playing in late 2005 in the outskirts of Los Angeles. Original members included Chris Tillotson (Guitar touchin and vocals), Chris Holder (bass humpin), Mason Owen (drum licken), and Jack Hutchings (guitar wankin). Later on Ben Engebretson was added to the lineup as another guitarist and pianist to help with layering and the practice space rent. With an additional member and new songs the band continues to grow in alcoholism. Starving Daughters meticulously arrange songs, but also rock out cause it's fun. A love of classic music and wistful moods permeates their tunes. Some people would say they play mellow stuff but if those people kept listening they would say, "ah, and they rock as well" The first E.P., Such Buds, was recorded in Chris Tillotson’s home studio in the world famous city of, Chino, California. Many computer crashes and dragon attacks almost prevented this from happening, but the Starv Daughts were able to pump out 5 songs that they were happy with. Jack H thinks it could have been better but hey... Such Buds was released by the Portland based indie media collective, Tender Loving Empire in March 2007. The band continues to record new songs in Tillotson’s bedroom and will release their first full length in the not so distant future.
