This Page Is Dedicated To The Creations Of The Artist Formerly Known As Sandogg.
Sandogg began painting at the age of 15, while attending Corcoran High School in Corcoran California, which is a small city located in the San Joaquin Valley. Throughout his life, Sandogg has thought about Art, and what it means to be an artist. After graduating high school, Sandogg studied sociology at The University of California-Riverside. Although he never thought of Art as a career or profession, Sandogg maintained his interest in Art and enrolled in photography, web based art, and a drawing class during the fall of 2001. It was in his drawing class that he caught the attention of his professor Jill Giegerich, who suggested that Sandogg pursue a career in Art. Prior to this, Sandogg thought Art was something of a hobby or just for fun. After having an intense conversation with his professor, Sandogg decided that Art should not be merely a hobby for him and so he continued to enroll in as many studio Art classes as he could. The same way he caught the attention of his drawing professor, Sandogg was also highly praised by his painting professor, and mentor, James Strombotne. Mr. Strombotne encouraged Sandogg to always improve and to take criticism seriously, but not take it to heart. Along with praise also came meticulous scrutiny of the work, which Sandogg always took into consideration. Piece after piece, Mr. Strombotne became more impressed with Sandogg's work, going as far as calling it "GENIUS," and presenting him to others as his "Star Student." After amazing his professors and fellow students in the classroom, Sandogg saw his own potential, and made up his mind indefinitely: he was going to be a professional artist... at all costs.
Fueled by the intellectual ferment of the University, and heartbreaks, Sandogg became inspired as a poet, and also as a visual artist. His compositions are not abstract, on the contrary, they are full of meaning and subconscious intentions that materialize in time. This has intrigued Sandogg because it ties into destiny and individuality. What it means to be in control of one's destiny, and the responsibility of executing tasks and making critical decisions. His subjects seem random, sometimes erratic, yet they contain clues to unlocking the mystery that will be revealed only after all the pieces are complete. Like a puzzle that will reveal a larger picture, a portrait, of a true artist.
Sandogg will someday be written into history books and art history books alike. His background in sociology has opened his eyes to things that usually pass under the radar of the masses. Although his style remains undiscovered, except by those who have witnessed the art in person, his poise remains undisrupted and aimed at unveiling those mysteries that stifle the progress of humanity. His goal is to improve his technique continuously, in order to achieve the inevitable: The transcending of subconscious mysteries into the tangible world. His editions are limited, and currently not for private sale. An auction is eminent.....
