About Me

So I've decided that my favorite place in the world is Rome.... second only to Alain's arms. Now if I could be in both at once, that would be perfect..
More about me: Traveling and studying languages are my PASSION. (If you want to teach me any language that you know, I'll love you forever.) So far, I've hit 4 of the 7 continents (not counting Israel as part of Asia, even though it "technically" is), and am busy figuring out who's gonna want to come with me to Antarctica.
I love my new job at Louise's cuz the people are kickass! I'm completely codependent and can't make a decision to save my life. I rank among the top procrastinators in the world. I would live on PBJ's and Haagen Dazs coffee ice cream if I could. I get grumpy when I'm woken up too early and when I oversleep. Denmark is where its at (RøD GRøD med FLøDE)! Music is my God.
um.. yeah.
and one more thing...
"What is Occupational Therapy?"
NO it is not therapy for people at work, and NO I won't help you find a job!
Occupational Therapy is very broad, working with those of any age in many settings. Here are some definitions I've found to be useful in describing my area of study:
* Occupational Therapy is...therapy to help learn or relearn daily living and developmental skills. Some of the areas the therapist may help the individual regain function in are self feeding, oral hygiene, upper body strengthening, dressing/bathing skills, visual/perceptual coordination, splinting and adaptive equipment.
* Occupational Therapy is...a rehabilitation profession that helps people with a wide variety of disabilities to develop adaptive or physical skills that will aid in daily living and improve interactions with their physical and social world. It focuses on developing functional skills related to sensory-motor integration; coordination of movement; fine motor skills; self-help skills (dressing, self-feeding, etc.)
* Occupational Therapy is...the use of adaptive, work, and play activities to increase independent function, enhance development, and prevent disability; the task or the environment may be adapted to achieve maximum independence and to enhance the quality of life.
So basically I can help you regain independence if you have a stroke or a brain injury, or teach your child skills to take care of themselves if they have cerebral palsy, autism, or sensory issues... or anything in between.
Does that answer your question???
