Raneem

Raneem Hallab was born in Tripoli, the northern city of Lebanon, on the 28th of June, 1986. He first discovered his passion for music upon watching cousin mixing tracks together – this is where it all began for Raneem. At around 15 years of age, he started experimenting with DJing and production, mixing and remixing diverse music genres, ranging from RnB, to Hip-Hop, to Arabic, to Dance music, through the use of DJing programs at an early stage. But it wasn’t long until he came to understand the limitations embedded in software mixing, which is what urged him to expand his skills onto hardware. This is when he bought himself his first set of DJ gear, on which he spend hours developing his hardware mixing techniques. His fast learning curve opened up the first few doors of his music career, where he began receiving requests to DJ in various private parties and small school parties at the time, while his production skills were still improving with time. But somewhere during his musical exploration, Raneem discovered Trance music, and things took a 180 degrees turn right then. Already having substantial production experience under his belt, it wasn’t long until he began channeling that experience into strictly Trance, and thus he started producing his own Trance tracks in 2004, composing rich melodies and complex chords without even taking any music lessons, simply out of having a sharp musical ear and refined taste in electronic sounds. Succeeding in this challenge as well got Raneem’s DJing and Music Production more of a passion than a hobby of his. As time went by, he enhanced his production skills to the point of becoming fully capable of producing top notch tracks and remixes of almost the same standard as any professional Trance producer out there. This encouraged him even further to build his own home studio, by buying some essential mixing and production hardware.Today, Raneem hosts his very own weekly Trance called "The Underverse", on TPM Internet Radio (www.theperfectmix.fm) , on which he showcases the latest Trance releases, also occasionally taking his listeners on a trip down memory lane with Trance classics, while including his own productions and remixes whenever a new track is finalized. In his production portfolio is an Uplifting Trance remix of Bart Claessen’s “When Morning Comes” which received support from Bart himself, a darker remix of Airbase’s “Roots” which rallied massive internet feedback from its listeners, and a current co-production with fellow local Trance producers/DJs “C-Rouge” & "Dionysos" in the works, let alone his countless solo productions, both past and present ones. In April, Raneem was selected on the roster of the 22 hours long show “Middle East In The Mix” ..hours.FM, where he dished out a monumental Uplifting and Tech Trance set that dazed those tuning in. And just recently, he got his own monthly show “Beirut on Fire” on the same internet radio, Afterhours.FM, every 2nd Friday at 3 pm GMT.(Biography by Saleem Baradhy)
